Amy Kristensen, MD, MSc, is an emergency medicine physician at City of Hope®® Cancer Center Phoenix, where she provides emergency care for patients who are admitted to our hospital with urgent medical needs. Board-certified in her field, Dr. Kristensen believes in a patient-first, compassionate approach to her work and is dedicated to ensuring her patients feel well cared for during their hospital stay.
Prior to joining City of Hope, Dr. Kristensen was an emergency medicine physician and a faculty member at multiple health care organizations across Arizona. After completing a master’s in global health and public policy at the University of Edinburgh, she returned to Phoenix to pursue a medical degree at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, where she also received a certificate of distinction in the field of global health. She then completed her residency in emergency medicine at the Abrazo Health Network.
Dr. Kristensen is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the American Academy of Emergency Medicine, the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Society of Refugee Healthcare Providers. Passionate about advocacy and community engagement, she has spent many years working with organizations that provide health-related services for refugees and asylum seekers, including the Physicians for Human Rights Asylum Network. She has presented on topics including global health and immigrant health care at conferences across the United States.
Outside of City of Hope, Dr. Kristensen enjoys hobbies that include travel, food and wine.
