Gynecologic Oncologist
Amy Hakim, M.D., is a surgical oncologist at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte who focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of gynecologic cancers. Her clinical practice is complemented by her research into the links between women’s cancers and human papillomavirus (HPV), as well as the role that the HPV vaccine plays in screening and prevention of certain gynecologic malignancies – an area in which Dr. Hakim has published several studies.
Dr. Hakim earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii, followed by further gynecologic oncology fellowship training at multiple institutions, including Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, City of Hope and the University of Texas Medical Branch–Methodist Hospital in Galveston and Houston.
