Ali Zhumkhawala, M.D., is a urologic oncology surgeon at City of Hope® Cancer Duarte, where he specializes in diagnosing and treating cancers of the urinary system, including prostate, bladder, kidney and testicular cancer. Dr. Zhumkhawala is committed to offering advanced, personalized care to each of his patients while helping to shape the future of cancer treatment through his research.
Dr. Zhumkhawala earned his undergraduate degree with high honors from the University of California, Los Angeles, and received his medical degree from Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. He joined City of Hope in 2013, after completing a fellowship in urologic oncology and a clinical investigator training program. Before that, he pursued an internship in general surgery and a residency in urology at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles.
Dr. Zhumkhawala is involved in many areas of research aimed at improving cancer care. His work includes exploring new imaging tools to help surgeons better see tumors during surgery and studying how stem cells might be used to fight prostate and bladder cancer.
