Alexandra Levine, MD, MACP, is a professor of hematology within the Hematologic Malignancies and Stem Cell Transplantation Institute at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte, which encompasses the Judy and Bernard Briskin Center for Multiple Myeloma Research, the Toni Stephenson Lymphoma Center and the Gehr Family Center for Leukemia Research.
An internationally renowned leader in the fields of Hodgkin’s disease, lymphoma and AIDS-related malignancies, Dr. Levine is the co-author of more than 325 peer-reviewed publications and was the recipient of National Institutes of Health funding from 1982 to 2012. For eight years, she collaborated with Dr. Jonas Salk on developing and testing an AIDS vaccine and in 1995, she was appointed by President Bill Clinton to the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS. She has also served two terms on the National Cancer Institute’s Board of Scientific Counselors and advised the health ministries of Chile, Russia, India and China.
