Adeboye Ogunseitan, MD, is division chief and associate clinical professor in the Department of Supportive Care Medicine at City of Hope® Cancer Center Duarte, where he works closely with patients and their loved ones to help manage the symptoms and side effects of cancer and its treatments, with the goal of enhancing our patients’ quality of life during and after treatment.
Dr. Ogunseitan was drawn to palliative care after supporting family and friends through serious illnesses. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, then completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. He is board-certified in both internal medicine and hospice and palliative medicine and he completed dedicated palliative care training at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Dr. Ogunseitan’s scholarly work includes publications on palliative care strategies and developing supportive care programs in Nigeria. He has also delivered clinical care and education in countries such as Mexico, Belize and Saudi Arabia. Dr. Ogunseitan is an active member of several professional organizations, including the International and American Associations for Hospice and Palliative Care and the Palliative Care Research Cooperative Group.
