Patients who may need critical care during the course of their cancer treatment include those who:

  • Experience infections or complications
  • Have respiratory problems
  • Undergo cancer surgery
  • Have coexisting medical conditions, such as diabetes or heart disease

Our ICU provides specialized nursing care, including oncologic, surgical, cardiovascular, renal (including hemodialysis), infectious disease and respiratory care (including ventilator support). Patients in the ICU receive monitoring and care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our critical care team is staffed by board-certified critical care physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, critical care nurses, cardiopulmonary specialists and other experts. The team takes a multidisciplinary approach, and works closely with patients' oncologists to provide streamlined, supportive care and attention.
