Supportive care services

Throughout your treatment, your genitourinary cancer care team will work to anticipate and manage cancer-related side effects and improve your quality of life. Patients may meet with supportive care experts, including a pain management physician, dietitian, physical or occupational therapist, behavioral health therapist and spiritual support provider.

Patients who have cancer of the male genital tract may also benefit from our sexual health and wellness program, which is designed to help prevent and address sexual function and relationship challenges that may result from treatment to these areas.

"I wanted to go somewhere where they specialized in cancer. I did my research, and just about every person I talked to suggested or recommended Cancer Treatment Centers of America. They told me that it was a hospital that specialized in cancer, and that it offered comprehensive health care, meaning I could have my scans, blood work and treatments done and work with my supportive care providers, like my dietitian, all in the same building."

Genitourinary cancer clinical trials

Our genitourinary team conducts clinical trials as part of the CTCA commitment to providing new and innovative treatment options when possible. As part of this commitment, we may offer clinical trials to patients who have urinary or male genital tract cancers and meet certain criteria. These trials study potential advancements in treatment approaches, which may include targeted therapy or immunotherapy, offering some qualifying patients options that may not otherwise have been available to them.
