Herpes virus being used to fight cancer

Medical oncologists at Cancer Treatment Centers of America are utilizing the FDA-approved treatment called talimogene laherparepvec (T-VEC) therapy to fight melanoma.

Dr. Alan Tan applies T-VEC directly to melanoma lesions. The genetically modified herpes virus is used to infect the cancer cells and make it more recognizable to the immune system.
