The Cancer Fighters Award Series

Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) is honored to support those impacted by cancer through two awards, the Cancer Fighters® Perseverance Award and the Cancer Fighters Champion Award.

Each recipient will be granted a plaque, donation to the nonprofit of their choosing, a donation to Gateway for Cancer Research on their behalf and a virtual awards ceremony hosted by CTCA® President and Chief Executive Officer Pat Basu, MD, MBA.

The Cancer Fighters Perseverance Award

The Cancer Fighters Perseverance Award is given quarterly to recipients who have faced a personal battle with cancer (either firsthand or as a caregiver). The Perseverance Award recipients embody a resilient spirit and servant heart, often devoting time to helping others navigate a difficult diagnosis and advocating on behalf of the cancer community.

Submissions for the winter 2022 Perseverance Award will open in November 2021.

The Cancer Fighters Champion Award

The Cancer Fighters Champion Award is given annually to a recipient who has used his or her public status or recognition to advance cancer research or advocate for patients. The Champion Award recipients embody a visionary spirit and determination to use their voice to help end cancer.

Submissions for the spring 2022 Champion Award will open in January 2022.

About Cancer Fighters

Cancer Fighters was founded in 1990 by a group of CTCA patients seeking a way to tap into the experience, knowledge and inspiration of cancer patients and caregivers across the country.

Today, Cancer Fighters is a nationwide community dedicated to the idea that no one should fight cancer alone. Learn more about the Cancer Fighters community and how to join as a member.
