Roger Dikdan,MD

Roger Dikdan, MD, joined City of Hope^® Cancer Center Phoenix in January 2024 as a Hospitalist with 10 years of experience in his field, focused on providing quality care for admitted patients who need to be monitored after surgery, addressing multiple forms of cancers as well as a variety of other ailments.

A member of the American Medical Association and American College of Physicians, Dr. Dikdan joined City of Hope for the promising opportunity to contribute to a developing program in hospital medicine. With the organization’s renown for excellent, compassionate cancer care, he views his role there as just the right match.

“City of Hope has built a well-earned reputation for great oncologic care, with a focus on patients’ dignity and quality of life,” says Dr. Dikdan, a native French speaker with high proficiency in Arabic and basic competence in Spanish. “This fits perfectly with my own approach to medicine.”

Dr. Dikdan earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, then completed an internal medicine residency at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix. Before City of Hope, he served as a hospitalist at a full-service, comprehensive acute-care facility in southeast Texas—where he was nominated for an institutional “physician of the year” award in 2021—and at a private hospital in Phoenix.

While at medical school, Dr. Dikdan was a research assistant on a team conducting cardiology investigations. There, he studied collagen deposits in the heart and lungs associated with cardiovascular disease and other life-threatening conditions, helped improve data collection in the lab and investigated the mechanisms behind muscle loss that comes with aging. He also served as a clinical research assistant for studies of children’s nutrition at Baylor College of Medicine.

Outside of City of Hope, Dr. Dikdan loves spending time with his wife and son and enjoys playing soccer, watching movies and listening to music.
