- About Me
Maafia (Mae) Osei-Cheremeh, APRN, FNP-C, joined City of Hope® Cancer Center Atlanta in July 2014 as a Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Radiation Oncology, working to develop radiation treatment plans, educate patients and their loved ones, and manage care during treatment and through to survivorship.
While training to be certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Osei-Cheremeh previously served as a House Supervisor for City of Hope Atlanta. In this role, she managed staffing and patient supervision, ensuring that her department maintained the highest level of care for their parents.
Osei-Cheremeh was first drawn to practice at City of Hope Atlanta by the patient-centered treatment model the hospital system is known for.
“City of Hope’s holistic approach to cancer care really resonated with me,” said Osei-Cheremeh. “And working alongside a diverse team of providers means that patients have access to what they need during their journey, all under one roof.”
Osei-Cheremeh began practicing as a staff nurse in New Jersey in 2005 before relocating to the metro Atlanta area. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, in 2014, shortly after joining City of Hope Atlanta. Osei-Cheremeh then completed her Master of Science in Nursing in Family Nurse Practitioner at South University in Savannah, Georgia, in 2017, all while serving patients as part of the City of Hope team. She’s also a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Outside of City of Hope, Osei-Cheremeh loves to watch college and professional football with her husband and their three children. She also enjoys cooking, dancing, shopping and attending church with her family.

Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
