About Me

Dr. Douglas Kelly joined City of Hope in 1996. Working as a radiation oncologist at the hospital in Phoenix, he offers patients innovative treatments and advanced technologies to fight cancer. Prior to joining the City of Hope hospital in Phoenix in 2020 he worked at our hospital in Tulsa. “My overall goal is to help my patients fight cancer using the most optimal treatment modalities combined with a patient-centered focus,” says Dr. Kelly.

At City of Hope, Dr. Kelly delivers targeted radiation therapies for the treatment of many different types and stages of cancer. Using sophisticated, state-of-the-art radiation therapy treatments, he maximizes the benefits of radiation while minimizing side effects. Dr. Kelly is highly skilled at using stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for prostate cancer treatment.

Dr. Kelly believes it is important to get to know his patients and their families. “I take as much time as needed to thoroughly explain everything and answer any questions,” says Dr. Kelly. “I educate my patients so that they feel empowered and can make informed decisions.”

Board certified in radiation oncology from the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Kelly is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society for Radiation Oncology and the Radiosurgery Society. He has experience in clinical research and has authored several publications.

Dr. Kelly earned a medical degree from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec in Canada. He completed a residency in radiation oncology from the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Center in Ottawa, Ontario. Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
