Bethany Garoutte, MBA is the Chief Operating Officer for City of Hope, in the Illinois Market. In this role, Garoutte leads operations across our hospital and Outpatient Care Centers with department leaders and physicians. A strategic change leader, Garoutte thrives in demanding and challenging environments and builds strong cross-functional relationships leading to the success of complex initiatives.

Since joining City of Hope in 2011, Garoutte has demonstrated a pattern of progressive leadership in diverse settings within the organization with a consistent record of advancing operations via influential servant leadership and operational partnership.

Prior to joining City of Hope Garoutte spent 16 years as an operations leader at United Hospital System in Southeastern Wisconsin/Northeastern Illinois. Over the course of her tenure at United, Garoutte held numerous leadership roles across facilities and drove the expansion of outpatient services through strategic growth initiatives and acquisitions.

A Wisconsin native, Garoutte holds a double-major Bachelor’s degree from Carthage College in Business Administration and Marketing. She also has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Marquette University.

In her free time Garoutte enjoys camping with her husband of 21 years and their two sons.
