Dr. Wissam Jaber, originally from Lebanon, is Director of Interventional Pulmonary Medicine at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), Phoenix. He studied medicine at the American University of Beirut, completing his Bachelor of Science in Biology followed by his Doctor of Medicine.
He completed a three-year residency in Internal Medicine at the same institution before coming to the United States. Dr. Jaber was a resident in Internal Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. He then completed a three-year fellowship in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine followed by a fellowship in Interventional Pulmonary Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic.
After his extensive training, Dr. Jaber became Director of Interventional Pulmonary and Inpatient Bronchoscopy Unit at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He also served as Assistant Professor in the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at the same institution.
Dr. Jaber is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Interventional Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has published numerous studies focused on malignant and benign airway diseases and presented his research in professional conferences in the United States and abroad. He has received travel and training awards, as well as recognition for excellence in teaching about lung cancer screening techniques.
At CTCA®, Dr. Jaber focuses on all aspects of pulmonary medicine. He specializes in particular on diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for lung and thoracic cancers. He also treats airway diseases that may complicate malignant and non malignant conditions of the chest. Dr. Jaber is integrating minimally invasive techniques into the diagnosis of cancer and the treatment of conditions of the lungs and airways resulting from cancer.
Dr. Jaber is an avid runner and cyclist and also enjoys medical and nonmedical literature. He spends most of his time outside of CTCA with his wife, their newborn daughter and Stella the German shepherd.
Patient ratings and comments
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
