Originally from Myanmar, Dr. Kochar attended the Institute of Medicine, Mandalay, earning her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. Her postgraduate training began with an internship at the same institution.
Dr. Kochar continued her postgraduate training at Lutheran Medical Center, completing a three-year residency in Internal Medicine, followed by a fellowship in Endocrinology at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science. She joined CTCA in September 2015.
During her training, Dr. Kochar also published and presented research and case studies on cardiovascular health, cancer, endocrine system conditions and other health issues. She has volunteered her time and expertise at several hospitals both in the United States and Myanmar.
Licensed to practice medicine by the States of Arizona and Illinois, Dr. Kochar is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and the Endocrine Society. She is fluent in Burmese, Hindi and Punjabi, and speaks basic Urdu and Mandarin.
At CTCA, Dr. Kochar treats thyroid cancer, adrenal tumors and pituitary tumors. She also focuses on diabetes, thyroid dysfunction, bone health, electrolytes management, calcium disorders and dynamic endocrine testing.
When she is not at CTCA, Dr. Kochar enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, meditating and gardening.
Patient ratings and comments
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
