Stephanie Johnston is a Nurse Practitioner at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) at the North Phoenix Outpatient Care Center in Arizona. Johnston is part of a multidisciplinary team focused on helping patients understand their cancer and their treatment options.

At CTCA®, Johnston works closely with attending physicians to oversee delivery of cancer treatments. She also works with the patients to help them maintain their desired quality of life before, during and following cancer treatment. Johnston encourages patients to participate fully in all treatment decisions and to use the supportive care services offered at CTCA to help them with any cancer-related or treatment-related side effects.

“I have the privilege to truly get to know my patients and their families,” says Johnston. “I actively monitor my patients to track treatment progress and manage any side effects. My goal is to ensure that I support my patients through every step of their journey with cancer.”

Johnston began her career as a registered nurse at a Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, California. She worked in hematology/oncology as a registered nurse for several years before continuing her education to become a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in 2015. She joined CTCA in February 2018.

Johnston earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Walla Walla University in College Place, Washington. She went on to earn a Master’s Degree in nursing from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.

Johnston is married with twin children and two rambunctious dogs. Outside of CTCA, Johnston enjoys spending quality time with her family. They like to dine out, play at the park and go to the movies.

Patient ratings and comments

Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
