Sudheer Nambiar, MD, FCCP, joined Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in September 2017. Dr. Nambiar works in the Intensive Care Unit as an Intensivist, identifying and addressing patients’ urgent needs and assisting them during the recovery process. He also meets with patients in the Post-Op Critical Care Unit to help them with recovery following surgery. With prior experience in surgery, Dr. Nambiar understands the needs of surgical patients and may anticipate complications.
“I put myself in my patients’ shoes and try to provide what they need,” says Dr. Nambiar. “I always treat them with kindness and compassion, while respecting their wishes and emotions.”
Dr. Nambiar earned a medical degree from the Medical College Thiruvanathapuram, at the University of Kerala in India. Following medical school, he completed a general surgery residency at South Gujarat University in India, and a general surgery internship at Harlem Hospital, Columbia University in New York, New York. He also completed a residency in internal medicine at North General Hospital, Mount Sinai Program in New York, New York, as well as a pulmonary care fellowship at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey.
In addition to his clinical experiences, Dr. Nambiar’s work has been published in many leading journals, and he has presented at several conferences. He is interested in working with clinical trials at CTCA® to help improve and expand cancer treatment options. Dr. Nambiar is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He is also a member of several organizations, including the American College of Physicians, the American College of Chest Physicians, the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American Thoracic Society.
Dr. Nambiar is married to a physician and, together, they have two children: a daughter and a son. When he isn’t working, Dr. Nambiar enjoys spending time with his family, and is very involved in his children’s school activities and with volunteer work.
Patient ratings and comments
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
