“My work at CTCA involves providing medically necessary care for critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit,” says Samuel Gebreyonas, Nurse Practitioner at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), Atlanta. “Making sure that my patients get quality care is what I enjoy most about my work.”
Gebreyonas joined CTCA® in July 2017 and is part of the team providing comprehensive medical care in the ICU. Some of the lifesaving procedures he manages include hemodynamics, ventilator management, diagnostic procedures and life sustaining line placements.
Gebreyonas earned his Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Asmara in Asmara, Eritrea. He then completed a Master of Science degree in adult health nursing from State University of New York in Stony Brook, New York. After almost ten years of nursing experience, he went on to earn a Post Master’s Certificate from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Gebreyonas is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an acute care nurse practitioner.
Prior to joining CTCA, Gebreyonas practiced at Emory University Hospital midtown medical ICU as acute care nurse practitioner and as a nurse at several health care settings in Georgia and on the East Coast. He has years of experience caring for critically ill patients. Gebreyonas is also a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
Outside of CTCA, Gebreyonas likes to spend as much time as possible with his children.
Patient ratings and comments
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
