As one of the first people to meet new patients at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), Jennifer Moore Goodson, Nurse Practitioner, places a priority on engendering trust. “I want our patients to feel confident that we have thoroughly reviewed their medical history and are prepared to provide excellent care,” says Goodson.
Goodson earned her Bachelor of Science, cum laude, in Nursing at Medical College of Georgia in 1995. She completed her Master of Science as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Georgia State University, graduating with honors in 2002.
A licensed Registered Nurse and Family Nurse Practitioner by the State of Georgia, Goodson is also a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Additionally, she holds certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International.
Since 2002, Goodson has provided care as a Nurse Practitioner in various healthcare facilities in Georgia specializing in Primary Care, Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine. She also has experience in the Hospice setting. She joined CTCA® in December 2013.
At CTCA, Goodson helps manage the intake process for new patients, providing orientations and helping to prepare patients for evaluations with our specialists. She reviews each patient’s medical records, evaluates all previous cancer treatment regimens, conducts physical examinations, and orders any necessary tests for the Care Team to determine the optimal treatment approach. “All the providers here work together to ensure that our patients obtain all the services they need,” says Goodson.
When she is not at CTCA, Goodson enjoys spending time with her husband and their two daughters. They live on a farm, where they raise dairy goats and practice beekeeping.
Patient ratings and comments
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
