Dr. Anand is an experienced gastroenterologist who focuses his time treating and managing gastrointestinal and liver cancers. He also has a special interest in pancreatobiliary diseases. Dr. Anand has years of experience and training in advanced therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), enteral stent placement, fecal microbiota transplantation, and radio frequency ablation. He keeps up to date with recent advances, looking for opportunities to incorporate them into the care of his patients.

“I share the same passion towards patient care that CTCA® embraces,” says Dr. Anand. “I am proud to work on a multidisciplinary team to help our patients receive whole-person cancer care.” Working closely with patients, Dr. Anand offers personalized treatment plans, which may include clinical therapies when surgery is not an option.

Dr. Anand received his medical degree from Dr. M.G.R. University, Christian Medical College, in Vellore, India. He then moved to the United States and completed an internal medicine internship and residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He served as both Assistant Chief Resident and Chief Resident in the Department of Medicine during his residency and served as Chief Fellow during his fellowship in gastroenterology at the same medical center.

Dr. Anand competed another fellowship, this time focused on advanced therapeutics at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School in Boston. He then returned to Albert Einstein Medical Center as Associate Director of Endoscopy. In 2009, he was promoted to Director of Endoscopy in the Division of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Anand has contributed to many book chapters and has been widely published on a variety of gastrointestinal topics, including dysphagia, esophageal obstruction, pH monitoring and liver disease. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. In 2011, Dr. Anand was named to Philadelphia magazine’s list of ”Top Docs,” and for five consecutive years, he has been  named in Atlanta magazine's “Top Doctors” guide for gastroenterology by Castle Connolly Medical.

Dr. Anand joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2011, as a full-time gastroenterologist. He practices at CTCA on a part-time basis as part of a collaborative partnership.

Patient ratings and comments

Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
