The doctors at the CTCA Breast Cancer Center in Atlanta are committed to offering state-of-the-art treatments for breast cancer patients. The center is led by Medical Oncologist Ricardo H. Alvarez, MD, MSc. Board certified and fellowship trained, Dr. Alvarez also serves as Director of Cancer Research at Southeastern and is a former assistant professor of breast medical oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he conducted research on inflammatory breast cancer.
Other Breast Cancer Center team members include Breast Surgical Oncologist Anita Johnson, MD, FACS and Breast Medical Oncologists John McKnight, MD, MBA, Damien Hansra, MD, and Haritha Pabbathi, MD.
Dr. Johnson is an oncoplastic surgeon with expertise in techniques like skin-sparing and nipple-sparing mastectomies. Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. McKnight completed his medical oncology fellowship at the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health and holds an MBA with a focus in medical management from Johns Hopkins University.
Board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology, Dr. Hansra has had his work published in several leading journals and is a member of several medical organizations. Dr. Pabbathi is also board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. She completed an internship and residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New Jersey, followed by a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.
