Tintu George joined Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in August 2018. As a Nurse Practitioner in the Gastroenterology department, George is part of a multidisciplinary team focused on helping patients understand their cancer and treatment options.

“Doctors and clinicians regularly collaborate and communicate with one another, recommending treatment plans and adjusting them when necessary,” George says. “All the while, patients are continuously monitored and encouraged to utilize the supportive care services available to manage any cancer-related side effects.”

At CTCA®, George works closely with patients who have cancer affecting the gastrointestinal (GI) system, including the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, colon, rectum, gallbladder, bile ducts and liver. She helps to coordinate various GI procedures and helps patients manage GI-related side effects experienced while undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapy treatments.

“I provide my patients various treatment choices. However, my goal is to give them comfort and hope,” says George. “I take my job very seriously and I am most proud to provide my patients and their families with the answers they seek, the support they need and a listening ear for their concerns.”

After losing her mother to colon cancer, George developed her passion to become a nurse practitioner and focus on cancer patients. Prior to coming to the United States, George earned a master’s degree and bachelor’s degree from the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University in Chennai, India. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She went on to earn a master’s degree in nursing from the same school. Prior to joining CTCA, George has worked in a variety of healthcare settings.

Outside of CTCA, George enjoys spending time with friends and family, including her husband and two children. She also likes reading and traveling.

Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
