As a Pathologist at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), Dr. Shoib Sarwar oversees laboratory testing, innovative diagnostic studies and provides results to the patients. These tests play a major role to diagnose cancer, plan treatments, monitor disease and evaluate patients’ health.

Dr. Sarwar joined CTCA®, Phoenix in October 2018. Board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology and cytopathology, Dr. Sarwar is dedicated to using advanced diagnostic techniques and tools. The information and results that Dr. Sarwar provides helps each patient’s oncologist recommend appropriate and personalized cancer treatment options.

Dr. Sarwar received a medical degree from the King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. Following medical school, he went on to receive his master’s degree in public health from University of North Carolina School of Public Health in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Dr. Sarwar completed a pathology residency at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He completed a fellowship in cytopathology and immunopathology from Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami in Miami, Florida. Additionally, Dr. Sarwar completed a fellowship in hematopathology from Banner University Medical Center/University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. He is licensed in the states of Arizona, Michigan and New York.

Dr. Sarwar has completed several research publications and presentations. Through ongoing education and training, he stays up to date on new technologies and advanced diagnostic options.

Dr. Sarwar enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He also likes reading and traveling.
