Letitia Price, Physician Assistant at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), is fond of the saying that “cancer is a word, not a sentence.” She aims to assist patients in achieving the quality of life they desire.

Price earned a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology at Florida State University in Tallahassee. She then received a Certificate in Medical Technology from Bethune Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Florida. Price completed a Master of Clinical Medical Science through the Physician Assistant Program at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida, receiving an academic scholarship in 2005.

Prior to becoming a physician assistant, Price was a medical technologist and managed a blood banking lab. As part of her physician assistant training, she completed clinical rotations in emergency medicine, primary care, hematology/oncology, surgery, pediatrics, internal medicine and other areas.

In 2007, she joined a private oncology practice in Georgia as a physician assistant. There, she supported physicians in diagnosing and treating patients and provided extra care for patients by organizing support groups. She joined CTCA® Atlanta in December 2013.

Price is a certified physician assistant and licensed to practice in the State of Georgia and the State of Florida. She is also a Certified Medical Technologist.

Price has a personal connection to cancer: Her mother is a breast cancer survivor and her father is a prostate cancer survivor. She dedicates time away from work to organizations that help cancer patients and survivors. She also is an active participant and team leader in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

At CTCA, Price helps patients overcome the challenges they are facing, whether from the disease itself or treatment side effects, such as pain, nausea or fatigue. “We are here to help treat and resolve those issues,” says Price. She completes medical histories and physical examinations, educates patients and works closely with other clinicians to ensure that all patients receive optimal treatment, with a goal of minimizing side effects and maximizing quality of life.

Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
