Mertz’s goal is to build a relationship with all her patients at CTCA®. She works with advanced radiation therapies to treat cancer while helping to manage potential side effects. “I monitor my patients through their treatment to maximize the benefits of radiation while helping patients live with a better quality of life,” she says.

Mertz believes in supporting each individual patient through collaborative communication. “I am dedicated to educating my patients about their treatment,” she says. “I ensure that my patients have all their questions answered.”

Mertz completed a Bachelor of Science degree in nutritional science from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She then received her master’s degree focused on physician assistant studies from Oklahoma City University in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Outside of CTCA, Mertz enjoys spending time with her husband and dog. She and her husband make it back to Stillwater, Oklahoma, for every home football game. They also enjoy traveling, working out and hiking.
Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
