Dr. Jude Emokpare, Hospitalist at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), Atlanta, brings a broad range of medical expertise to his work at CTCA®. He works with patients by coordinating care and trying to ensure their needs are met. Originally from Nigeria, Dr. Emokpare has a great value for medical care and the role that the doctor-patient relationship plays providing effective treatment.

Board Certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Emokpare is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Medical Association.

After earning his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology at the University of Benin in 1999, Dr. Emokpare worked as a research assistant for a large company providing biodegradable products to be used by developing communities and large cities in Nigeria. He then returned to school, completing his Doctor of Medicine at Saba University School of Medicine, located in the Netherlands–Antilles, in 2006. 

Dr. Emokpare completed a three-year residency at Columbus Regional Health Systems. In this large family practice, Dr. Emokpare trained in intensive care, emergency room medicine, internal medicine, and high-risk obstetrics. He also provided medical care for nursing home patients. He then joined the Adjunct Family Practice Faculty to assist with teaching and training new medical residents. He spent six years as a Hospitalist Physician, providing clinical care for a wide range of patients. Most recently he served as Medical Director of a large health system, providing medical leadership for an acute care facility among other units.

Currently Dr. Emokpare serves as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at Mercer University School of Medicine – Columbus campus. He is also involved in the training of medical students there. 

Dr. Emokpare also coordinates several programs with the Lazarus Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing education, financial support and mentoring to at-risk youth. He has also served as a delegate with the Nigerian AIDS Foundation to provide training for healthcare providers in his home country.
