A Neurosurgeon at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), Tulsa, Dr. Frank Tomecek serves patients who have brain or spinal cancer, as well as cancer that has spread to the brain or spine from other areas of the body. He also treats patients with disease or injury of the brain, spinal cord, spinal column and peripheral nerves. Dr. Tomecek uses traditional and minimally invasive surgical approaches.

Dr. Tomecek joined CTCA® in February 2019. “My goal is to deliver excellent care using advanced and innovative technologies and treatment options to meet the needs of patients,” says Dr. Tomecek. “I am proud to partner with CTCA, an organization focused on cancer care.”

Dr. Tomecek completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. He received his medical degree from the Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Dr. Tomecek completed a surgical internship and neurological spine residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He also completed a neurosurgical spine fellowship at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

A Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine-Tulsa, Dr. Tomecek stays current on the latest advancements in neurosurgery. Dr. Tomecek has received additional training, such the use of CyberKnife®, the operating microscope, stereotactic radiation of brain tumors, stereotactic brain surgery, endoscopic spinal surgery, micro spinal surgery, and spinal instrumentation for cervical, thoracic and lumbar fixation.

Board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery, Dr. Tomecek is a member of several professional organizations, including the Congress of Neurosurgery, the American Association of Neurosurgeons, the American Medical Association, the North American Spine Society, the Tulsa County Medical Society and the Oklahoma State Medical Association.

Dr. Tomecek enjoys golf, racquetball, sailing, canoeing, singing, scuba diving and bicycling.
