“I love helping those in need,” says Eliza Bacot, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), Atlanta. “I treat my patients as I would my own family.” She joined CTCA® in August 2014.

Bacot began her nursing career as a nursing assistant, providing care to pediatric patients at a regional hospital. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia, in 2003. She became a Registered Nurse, caring for patients in the cardiovascular, surgical and medical intensive care units of several large regional hospitals.

Bacot completed a Master of Science in Acute Care Nursing at Emory University in Atlanta in 2007. From 2007 to 2014, she was an acute care nurse practitioner in the medical intensive care unit of a large hospital. She provided training in bedside ultrasound, served as a mentor for nurse practitioner in training and conducted many aspects of critical care.

Bacot is certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She also is a certified Registered Nurse by the National Certification Corporation. She is certified in Critical Care Ultrasonography by the American College of Chest Physicians.

At CTCA, Bacot works with patients in critical care. She conducts ultrasonography, ensuring its correct daily bedside use. “Ultrasonography is a powerful bedside tool,” says Bacot. She also focuses on informing patients about their care, making sure they are as comfortable as possible and maintaining the level of attention she would give to her own family members.

Outside of CTCA, Bacot enjoys spending time with her family, traveling to new places and cooking organic meals.

Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
