Dr. David Suh, a board-certified radiation oncologist, joined Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) in Philadelphia because it completely aligned with his personal view of combining patient-focused and empowered care with advanced cancer therapies. He notes, “I strongly believe excellence in this field of medicine requires being up to date with vast information on all cancer types and appropriate treatments, in addition to offering patients compassion and hope.”

He says his compassion stems from his faith, as well as the inspiration he receives from patients and their families.

Among the innovative and advanced treatments and therapeutic technologies Dr. Suh utilizes at CTCA® are deep tissue hyperthermia, respiratory gating, TomoTherapy® and the Calypso® 4D Localization System for delivering more precise prostate cancer radiation therapy. His areas of expertise include radiation therapy for head and neck cancers and prostate cancer.

Dr. Suh earned a medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He then completed an internship at the university’s hospital, followed by a radiation oncology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.

Before pursuing a medical degree, Dr. Suh obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Prior to joining CTCA in January 2012, Dr. Suh served as a radiation oncologist for a suburban Chicago radiation oncology practice, where he specialized in prostate cancer therapies such as prostate seed implants. He also developed a stereotactic radiosurgery program for a hospital in Delaware. Additionally, he initiated programs in Image Guided Radiation Therapy/Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy and prostate brachytherapy for the Methodist Hospital division of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he served as Clinical Director of Radiation Oncology for eight years.

Dr. Suh is a member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology and the American College of Radiology. He has presented on radiation therapy for prostate, esophageal and colorectal cancer at national and regional conferences and meetings and has been published in various clinical journals.

Dr. Suh treasures time with his wife (who is a pediatrician) and their young daughter and son. In addition to his time with his family, his current passion is serving people at his local church. He has played multiple instruments in concert orchestras and has been in a classic rock band.
