Dr. David McIntosh is a Gynecologic Oncologist at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) in Tulsa. Dr. McIntosh joined CTCA® in February 2018. Board certified in gynecologic oncology, as well as obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. McIntosh is dedicated to using evidence-based cancer treatments to fight gynecologic malignancies on multiple fronts.

Dr. McIntosh provides patients with continuity of care throughout their cancer journey, performing complex surgeries and guiding treatment plans, which may include chemotherapy and radiation therapy. “I work closely with my patients to achieve the goals that we set together,” says Dr. McIntosh. “Equally as important, I am committed to helping my patients maintain the best possible quality of life during and after treatment, by proactively managing side effects and addressing the challenges of cancer survivorship.”

After completing his premedical training at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas, Dr. McIntosh earned a medical degree from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. Following medical school, he completed his internship and residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City. Dr. McIntosh also completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.

Dr. McIntosh has held many academic teaching positions and has received the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics Teaching Award from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, as well as the Oklahoma State University Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Excellence in Resident Surgical Teaching Award. Throughout his career, Dr. McIntosh has been involved in serving disadvantaged and rural populations by improving access to care.

Dr. McIntosh has held leadership positions on several committees and has had his work published in a number of journals. He is a member of numerous medical organizations, including the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists, the Society of Gynecologic Oncology and the Georgia Obstetrical and Gynecological Society.

In addition to his work, Dr. McIntosh is passionate about cooking, playing tennis, golfing and finding the perfect beach. He has been married for more than 40 years and has three children and three grandchildren.
