Damien Hansra, MD, joined Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), Atlanta, in July 2017. He is an experienced medical oncologist who is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. Dr. Hansra evaluates and treats patients with various types of cancer, with a particular focus on hematologic malignancies and breast cancer. He is also part of our Breast Cancer Center and hematology teams, working together with multidisciplinary cancer experts to help patients make educated treatment decisions and develop treatment plans tailored to their individual needs.

Dr. Hansra chose to come to CTCA® because he believes his patients will benefit from state-of-the art oncology treatments combined with integrative therapies. “CTCA is committed to the advancement of cancer care,” says Dr. Hansra. “It is my responsibility to learn about my patients and determine how to best treat each person with the advanced tools and resources available.”

Dr. Hansra earned a medical degree from Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida. He completed an internal medicine residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. Additionally, he completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.

Prior to his position at CTCA, Dr. Hansra served as an oncologist and hematologist in Miami, Florida. He was a participant as principal and sub-investigator in numerous ongoing clinical trials. Dr. Hansra has been published in several leading journals and is a member of several medical organizations including American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Society of Hematology.

Outside of CTCA, Dr. Hansra enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. Together they run, ride bikes, play at the park and go to the movies.
