Amy Herrick brings more than a decade of experience to her work as Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), Atlanta, in Newnan, Georgia. She also brings joy and dedication to her patients and their families.

After completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Georgia Baptist College of Nursing (part of Mercer University in Macon, Georgia), Herrick worked as a Registered Nurse for a healthcare facility in Atlanta. She provided nursing for patients in the intensive care unit, developing treatment plans for a broad range of health issues. Serving on several committees, she also focused on improving services offered by the facility.

Later, she worked with a radiologist caring for patients receiving invasive procedures, shaping the role of the radiology nurse. She also spent an additional two years as a Registered Nurse in the intensive care unit, working closely with an interdisciplinary team of nurses, doctors and social workers.

In this role, Herrick gained a reputation for remaining calm during difficult situations and being expert with quick thinking during emergencies. Herrick later worked at a facility focused on cardiac care before joining CTCA® in April 2014.

As a Medical Oncology Nurse Practitioner at CTCA, Herrick works with oncologists focused on gastrointestinal cancers, including but not limited to colorectal cancer and pancreatic cancer. She focuses on treatments including chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and concurrent chemotherapy and radiation. She is also participating in clinical trials aiming to advance the treatment of these malignancies.

When she is not at CTCA, Herrick enjoys spending time with her husband (her high school sweetheart) and their son.
