About Alexander

In September 2019, Dr. Alexander E. Trebelev joined Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As Chief of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at CTCA®, Dr. Trebelev believes in focusing on whole-person care to fight disease with advanced treatment options while managing quality of life with supportive care services.

Working with a multidisciplinary team, Dr. Trebelev use medical imaging such as X-rays, ultrasound, CT scans and MRI scans to diagnose diseases. He also uses imaging to guide and perform minimally invasive, non-surgical procedures. Dr. Trebelev has a clinical interest in liver-directed therapy including radioembolization using yttrium, chemoembolization and thermal ablation of liver tumors.

Dr. Trebelev graduated from Arcadia University in Glenside, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology. He earned a medical degree and graduated cum laude from Jefferson Medical College (Thomas Jefferson University Sidney Kimmel Medical College) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Trebelev completed a residency in diagnostic radiology and served as Chief Resident at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Trebelev is an Associate Professor of Radiology and Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine. He has been published in several leading journals and books and is a member of professional medical organizations including the Society of Interventional Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, Philadelphia Angiography and Interventional Radiology Society and Philadelphia Roentgen Ray Society.

Outside of CTCA, Dr. Trebelev enjoys spending time with friends and family, including his wife and two daughters. He is an avid outdoorsman.
