Rod Bain is a Physical Therapist at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) in Phoenix, Arizona. He joined CTCA® in March 2012 and is focused on restoring patients’ function and independence through physical therapy techniques.

Bain is part of the oncology rehabilitation department at CTCA Phoenix, helping patients with a variety of cancer types. He works mainly with inpatients in the Special Care Unit, helping patients with medical complications and those recovering from surgery to improve their strength and mobility, so they can return home safely. Bain customizes techniques and therapies to meet the specific needs of each patient. Additionally, he is skilled in auriculotherapy, pulmonary and vestibular rehabilitation.

“My main goal is to help patients maintain or improve their quality of life throughout their cancer journey,” says Bain. “Connecting and forming close relationships with my patients and their families is the greatest benefit of working at CTCA.”

Bain received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He then earned his Master of Physical Therapy degree at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to CTCA, Bain gained clinical experience in a variety of health care settings, and he is committed to furthering his education.

Outside of CTCA, Bain enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. They love animals, especially their extended family (three dogs, a horse, a mule, a tortoise, a guinea pig and a baby bearded dragon). Bain and his family are involved in church, high school band boosters and Cub Scouts. For almost 20 years, Bain has been playing in Scottish pipe bands, as a bass drummer and snare drummer, performing around the United States and in Canada, France and Scotland.

Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
