One of the things Patricia Johnson likes most about working at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), Atlanta, is the opportunity to share acupuncture with patients who otherwise might not consider it as a supportive care option. She is also proud to be a part of the hospital's integrative care team, and to be able to refer patients to the other supportive care services, such as chiropractic care, naturopathic support, behavioral health, nutritional support and spiritual support, when appropriate. For Johnson, her work at CTCA® is a “dream come true.”

Johnson is very thankful that acupuncture is available for patients at CCTCA.  “It dovetails so nicely with the other integrative care practices, and it has the potential to help patients get through their cancer treatment more gracefully. Patients often think about acupuncture as a supportive care service for pain, but it also may help address other side effects associated with chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery.

Before to coming to CTCA, Johnson was an acupuncturist at Arizona State University’s and Grand Canyon University’s student health clinics.  She found this work very rewarding and enjoyed being part of collaborative integrative care teams.  It was this approach to care that attracted Johnson to CTCA.

Patricia is nationally certified and designated as a Diplomate of Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  She is also certified as a NADA acupuncture detoxification specialist.  Patricia earned a master’s degree in acupuncture from the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture.

Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
