As a Clinical Oncology Dietitian at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), Mariah Long works closely with patients to meet their individual nutrition needs by recommending nutrient-dense diets to support a healthy nutritional balance. She helps patients maintain or improve their nutritional status while undergoing cancer treatment. Additionally, Long provides evidenced-informed support to prevent or manage side effects that patients may experience.

“I am committed to providing encouragement and education to assist each patient in completing their nutrition and health goals,” says Long. “Through ongoing support, I am able to build long-term relationships with my patients and help them be as strong and healthy as possible.”

Long earned a Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. She then received a Master of Science degree in clinical nutrition from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Prior to joining CTCA® Chicago, Long provided nutritional support in a variety of health care settings.

Long is a strong believer in continuing education and stays up to date with ongoing research to incorporate into practice. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Chicago Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Outside of CTCA, Long enjoys spending time with friends and family. She also runs half-marathons, travels and likes to seek out new adventures.

Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
