Drayton Perkins is a Physical Therapist at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), Atlanta. He joined CTCA® in October 2016. Perkins works with patients to help address pain, mobility impairments, restore range of motion, improve strength and increase function.

For Perkins, working closely with oncology patients is what makes his work both effective and rewarding. “I help patients improve their current physical status, working towards returning to their desired level of mobility,” says Perkins. “I frequently incorporate manual therapy techniques into my treatment plans. By utilizing hands-on treatments, I can help patients relieve muscle tension, increase tissue extensibility, improve scar tissue development and decrease pain throughout the body.”

Perkins earned his Bachelor in Business Administration at Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy at the same university. A professional member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Physical Therapy Association of Georgia, Perkins is very active in his field. He has presented research at several professional conferences and completed several internships. Perkins’ approach to physical therapy was developed from years of clinical experience.

Outside of CTCA, Perkins travels often, exploring different parts of this world and learning about new cultures. His family and friends are significant pillars in his life and he enjoys spending quality time with them. In 2008, Perkins cycled 4,000 miles from San Francisco to Washington, D.C., raising funds and awareness for people with disabilities, all while seeing the United States from the unique vantage point of his bicycle.

Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
