“Having cancer is taxing on the patient on so many levels—mentally, emotionally, physically, nutritionally, spiritually and financially,” says Aroop Banerji, Naturopathic Provider at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), Chicago. “You need a whole-person approach to address these different stressors, and Cancer Treatment Centers of America does an amazing job.”

Banerji joined the Chicago hospital in January 2011. In his role, he provides consultation regarding safe use of dietary supplements. He also uses acupuncture to help patients may reduce side effects caused by treatment.

Banerji is empathetic to patients’ needs. He spends time with his patients and their loved ones to educate them to be more empowered to take steps to improve their health.

Banerji says something that’s impressed him is our successful integrative approach which relies on a collaborative environment and multi-disciplinary team approach, all under one roof.  “It’s such a team environment at CTCA®," he says. "Everyone supports one another like a harmonious orchestra.”

Banerji earned a doctorate degree in naturopathic medicine and a Master of Science degree in acupuncture from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental toxicology from the University of California, Davis. He also received a diploma in massage from the Brenneke School of Massage in Seattle.

Prior to joining CTCA, Banerji served in roles at The Retreat Women’s Health Center in Goshen, Indiana; Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, Indiana; and at an integrated care center in Chicago, Illinois.

Patient ratings
Star ratings and comments are only available for medical, radiation and gynecologic oncologists. Gynecologic surgical offerings are not included at this time due to a different survey tool required to evaluate these services. CTCA uses a validated Press Ganey® survey, which captures patient experience feedback for the primary oncology services of chemotherapy and radiation therapy at our comprehensive care and research centers. Following industry best practice, star ratings and comments are only published for physicians with a minimum of 30 completed patient surveys.
