At Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), we believe in treating the whole person. This is why we provide patients with in-house access to multiple treatments, supportive therapies and experts across a range of disciplines. Whether your needs are medical, emotional or spiritual, we strive to provide you with the services you need, all under one roof.
Many patients underestimate how dramatically cancer can affect them. An integrative approach to cancer care treats the disease with surgery, chemotherapy and other tools, while also supporting patients’ strength, stamina and quality of life with evidence-informed supportive therapies. This approach is also geared to help manage cancer-related side effects and strengthen your body for the fight ahead.
Our patient-focused care model puts you at the center of your treatment, so you and your family can focus on healing.
Each patient is assigned a team of multidisciplinary cancer experts who work together, all under one roof, to design and deliver a recommended care plan tailored to you and your individual needs. Some of the members of your care team, such as the medical oncologist, surgical oncologist or radiation oncologist, are dedicated to treating the cancer with evidence-based tools and technologies. Depending on your needs and preferences, your care team may also include various supportive care clinicians—a pain management doctor, registered dietitian, naturopathic provider or chiropractor, for example—to help you manage pain, nausea, fatigue and other cancer-related side effects that may develop. Because all these doctors and clinicians work in one location, they collaborate regularly with you and one another, monitoring your progress and adjusting your care plan when necessary.
At our hospitals, cancer treatments like chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery are integrated with supportive therapies designed to manage side effects and support quality of life. We treat the wide variety of types and stages of cancer. Depending on your needs, supportive therapies like nutrition and physical therapy are built into your treatment plan, to promote healing on all levels—body, mind and spirit.
In addition to traditional medical treatments, each patient’s care team includes supportive care clinicians like dietitians and naturopathic clinicians, who will work with you to improve your diet and suggest supplements. Along with counseling and emotional support from our therapists and pastoral care team, we also provide chiropractic care, pain management and other supportive therapies.
We work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs and diagnosis. During your evaluation, your team will complete an array of tests and assessments. Then, together, you will discuss the treatment options that are available to you.
Each treatment plan is unique to the individual patient, and we work with you to select supportive therapies that meet your needs. If you have a concern, we are happy to discuss it and look at additional options. No one’s cancer is the same, and your treatment plan should be customized to your needs and goals.
At any time throughout your treatment, if something is not working or is causing discomfort, your care team will be ready and willing to listen and make the necessary adjustments.
