Testicular cancer care

DISCOVER THE CTCA DIFFERENCE IN PERSONALIZED CANCER TREATMENT

At Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), we understand that treatment for testicular cancer should depend as much on the patient’s personal preferences as on the type and stage of the disease.
That’s why your multidisciplinary team will work with you, and one another, to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that’s personalized to your individual needs, preferences and goals. Treatments for testicular cancer may involve surgery, radiation therapy or chemotherapy, either alone or in combination. At CTCA®, we deliver conventional treatments along with supportive care services, including nutritional support and pain management, to help patients manage, and when possible, prevent side effects as part of our commitment to putting patients at the center of their care.

How are we different?

Urgency

Appointments are available in as little as 24 hours, and many treatment plans are developed within 48 hours of a patient’s first visit.

Convenience

We’ll take care of gathering your relevant medical records and making your transportation, travel and lodging arrangements.

Expertise

We have the expertise to confirm a diagnosis or treatment plan and offer options that may not have been considered. We can also assess your risk of recurrent cancer.

Quality of life-focused treatments

Treating testicular cancer can impact patients’ quality of life, sometimes in debilitating ways. That’s why your care team will be led by a urologic oncologist trained to treat urinary tract malignancies using a variety of tools and technologies. For example, testicular cancer treatments may affect your hormone levels and damage the testicles, sometimes making it difficult to produce enough sperm to conceive a child. Your urologic oncologist can provide guidance on how best to preserve your fertility, and work with the supportive care providers on your care team to help reduce side effects and address sexual function and intimacy concerns.

Comprehensive team approach

Your testicular cancer care team works all under one roof. That means you have access to state-of-the-art cancer treatments and supportive care services all in one location. Your treatment plan is coordinated by a care manager dedicated to orchestrating your schedule, communicating with the rest of your care team, getting your questions answered and helping you access your test results in a timely manner. Your care team may also include a medical, surgical and/or radiation oncologist, oncology nurses and a variety of supportive care providers.

Whole-person care

Our doctors work with supportive care providers to deliver evidence-informed therapies designed to address the symptoms of your disease and the side effects of treatment. That’s what integrative care is about: keeping you strong so you can better tolerate your treatments and maintain your quality of life. Our supportive care services include nutritional support to help develop a diet plan to help you stay nourished, while pain management physicians offer medication and non-narcotic approaches to help you keep your pain in check. And our spiritual support and behavioral health providers help support your mental and emotional health before, during and after your treatment.

Access to clinical trials

Clinical trials are critical tools researchers and doctors use to determine the safety and effectiveness of new drugs and therapies. At CTCA, we’re committed to offering our patients innovative and new cancer treatments, including access to clinical trials when appropriate. These trials may provide therapies that are not yet widely available to qualified patients who have exhausted conventional treatment options or whose cancer is advanced or difficult to treat. Our cancer doctors and researchers will work with you to determine whether you qualify for a trial and, if so, help you enroll.

I spoke to an Oncology Information Specialist, who provided me with a lot of information. I found out about the process of becoming a patient. I felt like I was being heard, and I felt important right from the start."
