DISCOVER THE CTCA DIFFERENCE IN PERSONALIZED CANCER CARE

We treat each patient with intestinal cancer holistically. That’s because, at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), we know that every cancer is as unique as the person fighting it.
Our multidisciplinary team of cancer experts is trained in diagnosing and treating every type and stage of the disease. They’ll work with you to develop a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to your individual needs, preferences and goals. Your treatment may include conventional therapies like surgery and radiation therapy—either alone or in combination—along with supportive care strategies designed to reduce disease- and treatment-related side effects

How are we different?

Urgency

Appointments are available in as little as 24 hours, and many treatment plans are developed within 48 hours of a patient’s first visit.

Convenience

We’ll take care of gathering your relevant medical records and making your transportation, travel and lodging arrangements.

Expertise

We have the expertise to confirm a diagnosis or treatment plan and offer options that may not have been considered. We can also assess your risk of recurrent cancer.

Intestinal cancer focus

At the GI Cancer Centers at each of our hospitals, our singular focus is on diagnosing and treating cancers of the digestive tract. Our collaborative care team works with you to deliver quality clinical care with a patient-centered approach. Our gastroenterologists and oncologists understand the complexities of intestinal cancer and the array of treatment options available to you, including the Whipple procedure, segmental resection and palliative procedures.

Comprehensive team approach

Your intestinal cancer care team works all under one roof. That means you have access to state-of-the-art cancer treatments and supportive care therapies all in one location. Your team will be led by a gastroenterologist, and your treatment plan is coordinated by a care manager dedicated to orchestrating your schedule, communicating with the rest of your care team, getting your questions answered and helping you access your test results in a timely manner. Your care team may also include a medical oncologist, a surgical and/or radiation oncologist, an interventional radiologist, oncology nurses and a variety of supportive care providers.

Whole-person care

Our doctors work with supportive care providers to deliver evidence-informed services designed to address the symptoms of your disease and the side effects of treatment. That’s what integrative care is all about: keeping you strong so you can better tolerate your treatments and maintain your quality of life. Our supportive care services include nutritional support to develop a diet plan to help you stay nourished, while pain management physicians offer medication and non-prescription approaches to help you keep your pain in check. And our spiritual support and behavioral health providers help support your mental and emotional health before, during and after your treatment.

“I joined CTCA because of its commitment to excellence and patient-focused care. It is work that I feel honored to do.”

Access to clinical trials

Clinical trials are critical tools researchers and doctors use to determine the safety and effectiveness of new drugs and therapies. At CTCA, we’re committed to offering our patients innovative and new cancer treatments, including access to clinical trials when appropriate. These trials may provide therapies that are not yet widely available to qualified patients who have exhausted conventional treatment options or whose cancer is advanced or difficult to treat. Our cancer doctors and researchers will work with you to determine whether you qualify for a trial and, if so, help you enroll.

I truly believe that the whole-person approach to care I received brought me through to the other side, so that I can now urge others to heed the signs."
