From the moment you contact us, we do all we can to ensure your treatment is as convenient and stress-free as possible. Our experienced team takes care of every detail of your visit, from gathering your medical records to scheduling your appointments to booking your travel and lodging.

Once here, our staff is available to continue assisting with your travel coordination and other needs throughout your treatment.

Prior to your visit, we will:

  • Verify your insurance benefits
  • Schedule your initial appointment
  • Handle your travel and lodging arrangements
  • Make every effort to obtain your medical records

We will:

  • Schedule your air or train travel
  • Cover the cost of your flight or train ride*
  • Strive to make your travel as smooth and comfortable as possible
  • For patients who travel from beyond a 25-mile radius, we will reimburse the MapQuest mileage at a rate of $.25/mile, with no caps.
* Travel benefits do not apply to beneficiaries of government payor programs such as Medicare.

We will:

  • Greet you when you arrive
  • Retrieve and carry your luggage
  • Drive you to our hospital
  • Shuttle you back and forth from our hospital and lodging sites
  • Offer transportation to various local stores and other sites (at select locations)
  • Drive you back to the airport/station for your trip home

Travel planning and coordination

We understand that traveling for cancer treatment may seem overwhelming. Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) offers many services that make getting to one of our cancer hospitals as easy, stress-free and affordable as possible.

Travel To-Dos Handled by CTCA? Cost
Reserve airline/train ticket. For certain patients, CTCA® will cover the cost of your flight/train ride, or reimburse you for miles if you drive.*
Make hotel/lodging arrangements. CTCA offers on- and off-site guest rooms at reduced rates, and has partnered with nearby hotels to offer rooms at reduced rates.
Arrange for transportation from the airport/train station to the hospital or to your lodging site. CTCA provides complimentary transportation services, including trips to and from the hospital and your lodging site, and around town.
Determine where/what to eat during the visit. CTCA offers discounted meal tickets for patients and their caregivers to dine at the hospital.**

Prior to your visit, a representative will:

  • Obtain your medical records and transfer them
  • Schedule your initial appointment
  • Schedule your air or train travel (and cover the cost for certain patients*)
  • Reserve your accommodations at our on-site guest rooms or at a nearby hotel
  • Greet you at the airport or train station and bring you to the hospital, or to your nearby lodging site

Once you arrive, each of our hospitals provides:

  • Concierge services (an information station at the hospital)
  • Low-cost, healthy meals by a world-class culinary team
  • Complimentary shuttle service to the airport, restaurants, shops and local attractions
  • Salon services
  • Childcare services and a fitness facility for you and your caregivers (at select facilities)
  • Patient and caregiver activities, classes and support groups
  • An on-site pharmacy/supplement center
  • Free Wi-Fi throughout the hospital

* If you are a beneficiary of a government health insurance program, such as Medicare, CTCA is not permitted to provide travel or transportation benefits.
** Meal costs for patients and caregivers vary at each CTCA hospital. The average cost of dinner is $4 to $7.
