Sarah Kiser was inspired to join Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) after learning about its patient-centered approach to care. She says, “We are able to treat the whole person and strive to make sure patients’ needs are met.”
Kiser earned a bachelor’s degree in nutrition at Long Island University’s C.W. Post Campus in Brookville, New York. She then completed a master’s degree in nutrition at Arizona State University in Phoenix.
Kiser’s academic training included an internship in dietetics at Arizona State University. She also worked as a performance nutritionist, formulating meal plans and providing education to athletes. She joined CTCA in Goodyear, Arizona in April 2013.
At CTCA, Kiser works with patients to create nutrition plans. She counsels patients on nutritional support and helps them manage treatment side effects. She also monitors patients’ nutrition status throughout their treatment.
“Every patient at CTCA receives an individualized nutrition plan,” says Kiser. “By building relationships with patients and caregivers, I can provide personalized nutrition recommendations.”
A registered dietitian, Kiser is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; the Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition Dietary Practice Group; the Oncology Nutrition Dietary Practice Group and the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition.
Outside of CTCA, Kiser enjoys cooking for friends and family, visiting local farmers’ markets and restaurants, and enjoying the Arizona weather.
