“My greatest satisfaction comes from being able to educate and empower our patients,” says Dr. Tims. “I feel privileged to share in their personal journeys, and I hope to act as a beacon for patients to help navigate their way towards health and balance.”
With a broad interest in all types of cancer, Dr. Tims has a special focus in cancers of the gastrointestinal tract including esophageal, pancreatic and colorectal cancers. He is passionate about the opportunity to discover innovative therapies for treating and supporting cancer patients through clinical research.
Dr. Tims is board certified in Naturopathic Oncology and a Fellow of the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology (FABNO). He is a member of many national and international groups, including the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the Society for Integrative Oncology.
Dr. Tims developed his interest in naturopathic medicine as a child. “My parents were huge advocates for naturopathy, homeopathy, Oriental medicine, and first and foremost, proper nutrition. They instilled in me the idea of the body’s ability to heal itself when given the proper stimuli and removing obstacles to wellness. I have always felt inspired by my parents to share this philosophy with as many people as possible. I knew pursuing a career in naturopathic medicine would allow me to do this.”
Dr. Tims has served as a volunteer for the Southwest Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Wellness Community in Phoenix, Arizona. He is a member of the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
When he is away from CTCA, Dr. Tims is an avid golfer. He finds his greatest peace and happiness by being outdoors. Dr. Tims and his wife have a daughter.
