Dr. J. Francis Turner, Jr. is the Director of Interventional Pulmonology at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at Western Regional Medical Center. He specializes in diseases of the lung and how lung and other cancers may interfere with breathing.

Dr. Turner brings more than 30 years of medical experience to CTCA. Board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine, he completed an interventional pulmonary fellowship after service in the U.S. Army. He served as the Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Nevada School of Medicine and Governor for Nevada for the American College of Chest Physicians. Dr. Turner also was the Director of Interventional Pulmonology at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

Dr. Turner has held both medical and administrative positions as professor of medicine at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, Las Vegas; senior research fellow at the National Supercomputing Center for Energy and the Environment, University of Nevada, Las Vegas; and Chief, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, University of Nevada School of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine and VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System, Las Vegas. As an Army veteran, he worked for more than a decade for the Department of Veterans Affairs Healthcare System.

In addition to his medical and research roles, Dr. Turner is a frequent national and international speaker on interventional pulmonary and critical care issues. He has also served as an editor and board member for the Journal of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology and American Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology.
