Sharon Day, Director of Nutrition at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Phoenix, is committed to helping patients make healthy dietary choices.
"Having farm-to-hospital access to produce picked at its peak allows us to provide the highest level of nutrients for our patients,” Sharon explains. “It’s also an opportunity for our patients to learn more about how to select and prepare fresh produce. We are supporting their healing and wellness while empowering them with tools they can take back home for their own survivorship, and for their family’s wellness."
"The farm gives our patients something unique that they aren’t experiencing anywhere else”, she says. “We know our patients and caregivers often don’t have time to go out to a farmer’s market and buy fresh produce and prepare it. We’re making it easier; we’re bringing it directly to them. We are that committed to helping our patients to not only survive, but thrive."
