Hope Springs Organic Farm
Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) at Western Regional Medical center (Western) is the first cancer hospital in the country to provide its patients with organic produce on-site. The 25-acre organic farm grows an abundance of vegetables, which lets our patients eat the freshest foods year-round.
CTCA® Executive Chef Frank Caputo teamed up with McClendon’s Select, one of the country’s top organic farm companies, owned by farmer Bob McClendon, to bring this vision to life.
“We’ve always provided our patients with the highest quality of certified organic produce and meats since we opened in 2008. We now grow our own food onsite and deliver delicious, highly nutritional meals to our patients and employees on the same day we’ve gone out and picked it from the vine or pulled it out of the ground. It’s just incredible,” says Caputo.
