Learn More about Western

At Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA), we are constantly looking for ways to expand our reach to help people living with cancer. With our new Western location, we hope to help eliminate some of the stress associated with traveling. The Arizona facility brings a new home of hope and healing, and a revolutionary way to fight cancer, to the West.

Like our other hospitals, our Arizona facility will offer patient-centered, fully-integrated cancer treatment under one roof. This means you can come here to receive traditional cancer treatments and technologies, as well as complementary medicine therapies, like nutrition, naturopathic medicine, physical therapy and mind-body medicine. This integrative treatment model aims to keep you strong so you can endure cancer treatments, and, at the same time, enjoy a good quality of life.

Breaking Ground

CTCA will begin construction of its new 210,000-square-foot-facility in October 2007. The Arizona facility will include approximately 24 inpatient rooms including ICU rooms and surgical suites, state-of-the-art radiation therapy and infusion departments, an on-site outpatient clinic, rehabilitation therapy, and on-site residential accommodations for outpatients and their families.

The decision to build a new facility in Arizona originated from our patients’ request to build hospitals closer to their homes. Yet, we also care about what functional design elements will be most conducive to your treatment and healing. Just as we did with our other hospitals, we invite our cancer patients and their families to be actively involved in every step of the hospital design process.

"Beam of Hope"

On March 2, 2008 about 300 cancer survivors from around the state will gather together to sign the building's commemorative steel beam, called the "Beam of Hope," at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Arizona (the spring training park for the Chicago Cubs). After the signing, the beam will be taken back to the construction site, where it will be placed on the building during a "topping-off" ceremony held the next day. The Beam of Hope signifies the beginnings of a hope-filled and empowering environment for patients and families at Western Regional Medical Center.

Helping the Community

In addition to state-of-the-art technology and a unique integrative treatment model, the new CTCA hospital provides economic benefits and employment opportunities within the greater Phoenix area and the medical community. Most of all, our Arizona facility promises another sanctuary of hope and healing for people fighting cancer.

Founded in 1988, CTCA has cancer treatment hospitals and community oncology programs in Illinois, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Washington.
