Dr. Charles McDonald
Chiropractor
A chiropractor at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at Western Regional Medical Center, Dr. Charles McDonald earned a bachelor of science degree in human biology from the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois, where three years later he received a doctorate of chiropractic degree.
As a post-graduate, Dr. McDonald devoted time to studying X-ray, orthopedics, nutrition, spine and extremity exercise rehabilitation, general diagnosis and a host of other fields. He brings 30 years of experience to his patients at CTCA. and has operated a clinic in Scottsdale since 1990.
In 1993, Dr. McDonald lost his mother to lung cancer. He came to CTCA, in part, because of his admiration for the Mother Standard® of Care. “I am so impressed with the core philosophies and the culture that has been created here at CTCA," says Dr. McDonald. "The Mother Standard of Care is the same approach I’ve always taken in my private practice.”
At CTCA, Dr. McDonald evaluates his patients to see if they have any spinal or extremity joint dysfunction as well as improper movement patterns. He then uses manual and non-force instrument adjustments to alleviate pain, improve mobility, and enhance well-being.
"Joint dysfunction and improper movement patterns are the source of most musculoskeletal pain," says Dr. McDonald. "Form and function are intertwined. Balance in the frame of the human body is necessary for 100% nervous system function."
Dr. McDonald is a member of nine professional organizations, including the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research and the Chiropractic Leadership Alliance. He is certified as an Independent Medical Examiner in Orthopedics by Los Angeles Chiropractic College and trained as a Chiropractic Sports Physician at Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Missouri.
In his spare time, Dr. McDonald enjoys spending time with his wife, Dianne, golfing, and volunteering as a football team chiropractor for his son’s high school. Having played football in college, Dr. McDonald loves watching his son play and enjoys Fantasy Football. His favorite quote is, “Happiness is a decision, not a destination.”
