Dr. William Romano says the most important thing he can do to provide exceptional care is to listen closely to his patients. “Each patient is on his or her own unique journey and to incorporate that aspect of their experience into my caregiving is very important to me,” he says.

An interventional radiologist with Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) at Western Regional Medical Center, Dr. Romano performs minimally invasive diagnostic and treatment procedures such as chemoembolization, radiofrequency ablation, kyphoplasty, and CT- and ultrasound-guided biopsies.

Dr. Romano is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada and a Fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology and vascular and interventional radiology.

Dr. Romano earned a medical degree from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. He completed a rotating internship at Ottawa Civic Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario and a radiology residency at his alma mater, the University of Western Ontario. He went on to complete a vascular/interventional radiology fellowship at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Dr. Romano has been published in numerous clinical journals, including the Journal of Clinical Oncology and the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. Additionally he has held academic appointments at two medical schools.
